CALIFORNIA REHABILITATION AND SPORTS THERAPY HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA - HEALTH BY RATIO

Online Physical Therapy & Functional Movement Program

Physical therapy is generally recognized as a method for treating and healing an injury, but many people are unaware that physical therapy, when pursued further beyond simply treating an injury and addressing the body as a whole, can also help people achieve long-term full-body health, avoid future injuries, and even boost physical performance.

Good physical therapy that uses functional movement and strength techniques can help you stay healthy and injury-free. We know how frustrating it can be when you're in pain and don't feel like anything you do helps. That's why we’re here to tell you that there is a better way.

If you're suffering from an injury (or several) and/or chronic pain, holistic physical therapy and functional movement reconditioning can assist.

We'll develop a comprehensive strategy that will help you get rid of your discomfort while also restoring full ranges of motion. Because we work with people of all ages from 15 to 70, with a range of issues that may impact them for years or even decades, we're confident we can assist you as well.

Our holistic physical therapy and functional movement programs teach you how to achieve your health & fitness goals now, and also how to maintain that health & fitness through key exercises, stretches, and other unique techniques. This way, you can enjoy your favorite activities at peak performance for the rest of your life!

WHAT IS THE HOLISTIC APPROACH WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY AND WHAT CAN IT DO FOR ME?

We don't just focus on the pain when we treat people. We also look at where the person's body is imbalanced and how they are compensating. This can help us fix the problem and reduce pain in the long run. We can also live more active lives without as much pain by doing this.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT/ASSESSMENT?

It's completely FREE!

We begin with a series of safe and functional movement screenings and range of motion assessments based on what you're attempting to heal, the activities you do on a daily basis, as well as your future goals.

Next, we will review all the assessments with you so that you understand how and why your body is moving the way it does. This includes explanations of where potential compensations and/or imbalances are coming from.

Finally, we will create a game plan on what specific mobility and exercise techniques you need to do to achieve your health and fitness goals.

WHAT ARE THE 5 PILLARS OF HEALTH?

We strongly believe that we can all make significant improvements in our health and accomplish remarkable things if we learn how to improve The 5 Pillars of Health:

1. The Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Pillar

2. The Movement Pillar

3. The Nutritional Pillar

4. The Environmental Pillar

5. The Fulfilling Service Pillar

The five pillars are linked and can have a beneficial or negative influence on all areas of our life. As a result, the body has the opportunity to flourish with its natural abilities to heal and perform for many years as long as we devote attention to each pillar individually.

We make sure that our clients prioritize not just body strengthening/alignment, but also the significance of being well-rounded in other aspects of their lives.

CAN PHYSICAL THERAPY HELP WITH SCIATICA?

Sciatica and lower back pain are one of the most frequent and distressing pains we can experience.

It was something I had dealt with for years whenever I drove or sat down for more than 20-30 minutes, making it difficult to drive in lovely LA traffic that takes 9 hours for every 10 miles traveled.

It's also something that my staff and I have been able to assist an extraordinary number of our customers with.

For some people, sitting is difficult; for others, it's when they go for a walk for too long or attempt to sleep.

They are in a similar position to me when they come to us because they felt like they had exhausted all possible options in order to get healthy:

CHIROPRACTIC & MASSAGE TREATMENTS, PAIN KILLERS & NERVE BLOCKERS, AND SURGERY

All of these therapies can make a difference on the spot, but there is a problem: they seldom address the core reasons for our sciatica or lower back pain. Instead, they are focused on relieving symptoms right now.

This immediate relief can be great when we are seriously debating on whether it is worth it or not to self-amputate our leg with a butter knife.

But in the long run, when we want to get back to our normal lives, symptom chasing isn't enough.

TIME TO ASSESS

If you have been trying different methods and they haven't worked, it might be time to look at what is going on above and below your spine and hips. This can help you figure out why you are having trouble stabilizing yourself.

For me, the root causes of my back pain were a combination of what was happening in my feet, ankles, and hips. This caused an over-arching of my lumbar vertebrae and compression of my hip capsules.

Some of our clients have a problem because their thoracic spine and shoulder girdle are overly compressed. This makes their lumbar spine lose its natural curvature, which causes them to tilt their pelvis backward.

For you, it could be different.
