NORTH SANTA ROSA PHYSICAL THERAPY - HEALTH BY RATIO
Online Physical Therapy & Functional Movement Program
Physical therapy, when taken a step farther beyond simply treating an injury but also addressing the entire body as a whole, can help you achieve long-term complete body health, avoid future injuries, and even boost physical performance.
In fact, using high-quality physical therapy and functional movement and strength techniques to create a holistically tailored treatment will keep you as healthy and free of pain as possible. We've been there; therefore, we know how aggravating it can be when you're in pain and everything you try simply chases symptoms without addressing the underlying issues.
When you're dealing with an ailment (or ailments) and/or chronic discomfort, holistic physical therapy and functional movement reconditioning can be beneficial. We'll develop a fully holistic strategy to help you get rid of your aches and return to normal motions. We serve individuals of all ages, from 15 to 70+, with a range of issues that may affect them for years or even decades. We're sure we can assist you, too.
Our comprehensive online physical therapy and functional movement training not only teaches you how to accomplish your health and fitness goals today but also how to maintain that health and fitness so you can do your favorite activities at top efficiency for a lifetime!
WHAT IS HBR?
An online holistic health and fitness program that combines physical therapy, corrective exercise, functional mobility and strength training, as well as nutrition counseling. Our team develops unique programs that can be completed in as little as 15 minutes each day to help people heal from injuries and prevent future ones. Our goal is to connect recurring and chronic injuries to functional health and fitness, as well as educate our clients on how to maintain it for life!
WHAT IS THE HOLISTIC APPROACH WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY AND WHAT CAN IT DO FOR ME?
Instead of treating a problem in isolation, we look at the entire body from top to bottom. Assessing and correcting the whole body in its natural motions may make all the difference in our ability to live an active and productive life for many years to come while performing at our personal best right now.
HOW DOES ONLINE PHYSICAL THERAPY COACHING WORK?
We pair 1-on-1 video consultation sessions with all of our clients, as well as customized mobility and exercise plans that are linked to step-by-step videos. We also include group coaching in our program by means of daily video conferences that everyone at Health By Ratio can join.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT/ASSESSMENT?
First and foremost, it's FREE!
We begin with a range of safe and functional movement tests and range of motion evaluations that are based on the goals you're trying to achieve, the activities you engage in frequently, and your planned future endeavors.
Along with this, we go through all of your feedback so that you know what's causing your body to move the way it does and where potential compensations or imbalances may be coming from.
Finally, we develop a game plan for you on what particular mobility and exercise techniques you'll need to achieve your health goals and ultimately return to the level of health and fitness you desire!
WHAT ARE THE 5 PILLARS OF HEALTH?
We truly believe that we all have the ability to greatly improve our health and accomplish amazing things when we learn how to protect The 5 Pillars of Health:
1. The Mental, Emotional, and Spiritual Pillar
2. The Movement Pillar
3. The Nutritional Pillar
4. The Environmental Pillar
5. The Fulfilling Service Pillar
The 5 Pillars are all interrelated, and they may have a significant impact on every aspect of our existence. As a result, when we give each of them the attention it deserves, the body has the ability to grow with its natural abilities to heal and perform for decades on end.
Throughout our program, we make sure that our clients put their bodies first but also consider the significance of being well-rounded in other areas of their lives.
CAN PHYSICAL THERAPY HELP WITH SCIATICA AND LUMBAR PAIN?
Sciatica and lumbar injuries are one of the most common and severe pains we may experience.
Personally, it was something I had to put up with for years while driving or sitting down for more than 20-30 minutes, making it difficult to drive in beautiful LA traffic that takes 9 hours for every 10 miles traveled.
It's also something that my team and I have helped a large number of our clients with.
For others, it's a problem to sit; for others, it's when they go for a walk for too long or attempt to sleep.
No matter where throughout their day they are impacted the most, we all come from a similar experience, since they believe that they have tried everything to be healthy. They come to us often after they feel like they have done everything possible to get well:
CHIROPRACTIC & MASSAGE TREATMENTS, PAIN KILLERS & NERVE BLOCKERS, AND SURGERY
All of these therapies can provide immediate relief, but their disadvantage is that they seldom address the real causes of our sciatica and lumbar pains. Instead, they focus on present-day symptoms rather than solving the problem at its core.
When we are seriously considering whether it's worth cutting our leg with a butter knife at the moment, this immediate help can be fantastic.
However, when we want to get back to our regular daily and active lifestyle after the acute phase, symptom chasing isn't enough.
TIME TO ASSESS
When these methods don't work, it's time to look at what is going on above and below the spine and/or hips to see what is impacting our core's ability to keep us steady.
The causes for me were a combination of what was going on in my feet, ankles, and hips, which caused an over-arching of my lumbar vertebrae and compression of my hip capsules.
For others, it's about their thoracic spine and shoulder girdle being excessively compressed and rolled forward, resulting in a loss of natural lumbar scoliosis curvature and a posterior pelvic tilt.
However, for you, it might be something different.
