WHAT IS HBR?
An online holistic health and fitness program that integrates physical therapy, corrective exercise, functional mobility and strength, and nutrition counseling. Our staff develops individualized programs that may be completed in as little as 15 minutes each day for injury recovery and prevention. We aim to connect recurring and chronic injuries with functional health and fitness, as well as educate our clients on how to maintain them for a lifetime!
WHAT IS THE HOLISTIC APPROACH WITH PHYSICAL THERAPY AND WHAT CAN IT DO FOR ME?
We look at the whole body from head to toe rather than single treatments that concentrate simply on where the pain is, which frequently miss the underlying causes of where our imbalances and compensations are coming from.
When we can perform at our personal best, we are more likely to live a healthy and active life for decades to come while achieving all of our goals. Assessing and addressing the entire body in its natural movements may make all the difference in the world for us to be able to do so for years ahead.
HOW DOES ONLINE PHYSICAL THERAPY COACHING WORK?
We integrate one-on-one video coaching calls with all of our clients, as well as customized mobility and exercise programs that are linked to step-by-step videos. We also offer group coaching through daily video sessions that everyone at Health By Ratio has access to.
WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST APPOINTMENT/ASSESSMENT?
First and most importantly, it's FREE!
We begin with a range of physical assessments and range of motion tests tailored to the things you're trying to repair.
Next, we go through all of the evaluations with you so that you can understand how and why your body is moving the way it does.
Finally, we devise a game plan for what particular mobility and exercise methods you'll need to get back to where you want to be in terms of your health!

IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE ABOUT SCIATICA AND LOWER BACK PAIN?
Sciatica and/or lower back pain are two of the most frequent and unpleasant pains we may experience.
When I was younger, I used to experience it while traveling or sitting down for more than 20-30 minutes. So it was excruciating to drive in the beautiful LA traffic, which takes 9 hours for each 10 miles traveled.
It's also something that my staff and I have been able to assist an incredible number of our clients with.
For some, sitting is a struggle, while for others it's when they go for a walk or hike for too long or attempt to sleep.
They are in a similar position to me when they come to us. They feel like they have already done everything possible to get healthy, and yet it isn’t working.
CHIROPRACTIC & MASSAGE TREATMENTS, PAIN KILLERS & NERVE BLOCKERS, AND SURGERY
All of these therapies may provide immediate relief, but the problem with them is that they rarely address the core causes of our sciatica and lower back pain. Instead, they're attempting to cope with symptoms right now.
When in a situation of a flare-up or spasm, absolutely short-term comfort can be gratifying.
However, when it comes to returning to our regular routines and being active, symptom chasing may not be enough in the long run.
TIME TO EXAMINE
When it becomes clear that these techniques aren't sufficient, we must determine what is going on above and below the spine and/or hips to identify what is affecting our core's capacity to keep us stable correctly.
The reasons for my chronic pains were a combination of the issues with my feet, ankles, and hips, which were causing an over-arching of my lumbar vertebrae and compression of my hip capsules.
For some of those we work with, their thoracic spine and shoulder girdle are excessively compressed and rolled forward, to the point that they lose the natural curvature of their lumbar spine and revert to a posterior pelvic tilt.
